(12 maart) Dave Hardy, Captain of the Tricycle Association and writer of a forthcoming book about the Isle Of Man races : "Yes the picture is of Geoff Smith, taken in the Isle of Man on the 20th June 1961 in the 25 mile time trial, and is about 1 kilometer from the finish. His time for the 25 was 1.9.45, the event was won by A.G.Wills of the North Worcester C.C. with a time of 1.7.11. The picture is most likely to have been taken by Len Thorpe,. G.S.A.Smith, as his name appears on the start sheet, rode for the East Bradford C.C.. he only rode in the Isle of Man once".
